Young people are more politically aware than the elderly and will actually have to live with the long term consequences of policy decisions. Young people over the age of consent should be voting and younger if they pay taxes.

It todays world it is necessary. We habe seen consistently how politicians act on their own interests in ways that directly harm the prospects of newer and future generations, in ways that they will not even live to see. A 16 year old today is exposed to just as much global politics as their parents, and they have their own unique lived experiences of growing up in the new digital age. At 16 they are mature enough to understand the concepts and recgonise where they align politically.
