My parents paid for my entire life to be set up for success and I will certainly be doing the same for my kids. I have a wonderful relationship with my parents and am in a position to be generous with my kids

No to Moving out at 18. However…. As a teacher of teens and mom, I believe it is Very Healthy for a 17 year old to work a summer job to Help pay for a phone bill and Especially Car Insurance (using mom / dad car) There is a Direct Correlation between Safer driving habits and teens who understand that insurance costs go Up when safe driving goes down.. I like the Natural consequences of this situation

My kids are 19 and 22 and I still pay their phone bills, insurance, car payments… when they move out and get real jobs, I’ll pass the phone and insurance bills on to them. I want them to get the best start possible so I provide what I can!

I married an American And she has said if my kids go down any bad path I’m done with them, she said this when they were very small. What a fucked mentally. I’m divorcing her . She also said to me an hour after I was told I have 2 years to live = well at least it’s not one of the kids. I married a moron.

I had the same attitude, still have to a degree. I could never kick out any of my adult kid's. they will however contribute to the running of the home. I only charge 33% of the income, it doesn't cover much of their expenses at all. however, when I didn't charge, they spent their money on absolute rubbish and even the dreaded dru 💉g's. If I don't do something, then I'm enabling.
