DACA recipients should be eligible for green cards automatically and a pathway to citizenship. This dignity act is much more expensive than the already passed DACA bill. This seems to be a slap in the face for all of the OG dreamers waiting all these long years.

It will not pass. But it is very interesting that this is a congressional open stance on asylum seeking. Asylum has always been controversial but congress has avoided putting immigration bills that make asylum easier/harder on the floor for a vote, because it will likely mean commenting on it/giving their opinions on the asylum proscess. This doesn’t inspire confidence that they view asylum favourably. Albeit the numbers of asylum seekers are high, we must recognize there is, especially at this moment an influx of violence corruption and unlivable conditions all around us, including in our neighbouring countries.
