I always get told I am not helping so I started responding with “I am trying to help you, but you don’t want to listen because you keep talking over me. Now do you want my help or not?” Some apologize then let me and some really don’t care and I say bad things in my head lol 😃

I’ve been a tech trainee for a year, studying for my certificate, and I’ve had a couple of people tell me I wanted their friend, sister, etc to die…I try not to take it personally, but I’m much better about not taking abuse

We have other patients intervening for us in our waiting room!! Other men standing up and yelling at the first man who is standing yelling at a seated woman at the front desk.

That is their problem solving. This type of behavior has been constantly reinforced in a lot of aspects of society. All you have to do is make a scene and then you get what you want. unfortunately what we do in the pharmacy isn't just remaking your food, or giving you a discount.

I have been treated worse by patients at the pharmacy then high-school. I sent years in an abusive relationship and he didn't even say shit like these patients say. then cant understand when I refuse to help them.

Our manager doesn't back us up when there is a disgruntled patient. He leaves us to handle it ourselves. If we are rude back, then we are in the wrong. The culture is the more abuse we take, the better the service. I cant take it anymore. I love my job but the abuse is getting to me. I no longer caring, just working for a paycheck.

The one that really got me was when a patient called me racist for not dispensing her med before clarification from the doctor. For reference it was an injection indicated for every 3 months and the Dr. wrote the directions for once monthly 😢

I work as SUD counselor and im very empathetic for the abuse that health care professionals get. One reason is because system (usually insurance) has financially broke our society. I have blue cross and my diabetes meds cost 300 bucks month. Im lucky i can afford but i know others cant.

I work in a pharmacy call center the second patients start being disrespectful & swearing I tell them that behavior is not going to be tolerated and going to disconnect the call. Or I ask them to repeat themselves, most of the time they don’t want to repeat what the said. Luckily we can report them to our ombudsman department and get they banned from filling with us.

We are not taking handwritten. controls from a certain place anymore. Guy wasn't aware (signs had been up about a week now) and took one. Patient called back after they had been trying to reach them demanding he be fired and she'll have his head on a stick.

Idk if I ever went a day without being yelled at. I literally had someone screaming in my face and I walked away and said someone else had to help them.
