@brooklyninspiress: Let's be real: Being the primary parent is tough and co-parenting can get messy. I don't usually share this part of my life on SM to spare the other party but this is MY reality. Typically I get 6 days a month to myself. (Every other weekend) I cherish that time I get to just be a person and not a parent. That time can't be compared to monetary contribution. Not long ago I would've been crying and screaming about how unfair it was that a person can choose to turn that parent button on and off. But life got easier when I decided to build a life WITH my kid and not around him. It's a rarity if I make plans that can't accommodate him. I've been able to provide him with so many experiences that he'll carry with him for life. So instead of being sad because "I have to take him with me" I'm grateful that I get to. I'm not posting this for recognition because I show up EVERY SINGLE DAY without a good job, because it's my job. But for reassurance. To let you know that it can get better.
