Single drive trucks are a PIA. Drove for Klien Tankers in Denver. He had some push, some pull single drive tractors with 3 axles to haul fuel. You were SOL if the frame twisted even a smidge. 😑

Something so complicated and probably more expensive just to save an extra 10¢/gal. He’s not going to be able to run as many loads or be more efficient because he has one less tank and has to stop more often.

The biggest benefit to a lift axle is reducing the drag and increasing fuel mileage… The reduced wear is nice but fuel savings is the biggest benefit
