I hate how they ignore the history as well, like yeah it makes sense that Europeans were fleeing war fascism communism, severe economic depression, and a ton of other things in that time period (1900-1960). Also not mentioning how systems changed, maybe it’s not that we had a massive unrealistic rise in people of color, because that’s who she’s really talking about, but maybe it’s that we started keeping better track, and relative to the mostly rebuilt Europe and tightening USSR the figure looks outsized from previous values

also why would Europeans want to come here unless they are entrepreneurs or really wealthy people trying to flee higher taxes? they have great social programs and educational programs. for the working class or middle class Europeans coming to America would be a huge real wage decrease.
