Replying to @cademan Here’s one example—just one. I’m not trying to argue, just pointing it out. Asbestos wire insulation was used up until the late ’80s. I’m certain we’ve worked it, but I’ve never once seen a mitigation plan for it on a job. Why? Because if they officially acknowledge it, they have to follow all the steps—testing, PPE, disposal, reporting—and take on the liability. In house has records and testing….So instead, it gets ignored. Quietly. And the contractor crew just gets it done. This isn’t about breaking rules—it’s about how hard it is to follow rules that no one talks about, and the fact they are different for in house then outside. It’s liability management not safety.
