SPOILERS AHEAD – READ REAS AT YOUR OWN RISK ⚠️🚨
The movie starts off heavy — Shinobu gets killed by Doma. Right after that, we get some emotional flashbacks, including her final talk with Kanao, where she basically passes on her will to defeat Doma. Kanao sees what happens and goes straight into battle with him, but she’s clearly outmatched. She puts up a good fight but ends up getting hurt badly. That fight isn’t over yet, though — it cuts away before we see how it ends.
Then it switches to Zenitsu. He gets a letter explaining the truth about his old mentor — the guy ended up killing himself out of shame because Kaigaku, Zenitsu’s former training partner, turned into a demon. That news hits Zenitsu hard, and for once, he completely locks in. No fear, no running — just serious. He uses a new Thunder Breathing form that he created himself and completely destroys Kaigaku in a crazy fight. It’s the most serious and badass Zenitsu has ever been.
After that, the focus shifts to Tanjiro and Giyu fighting Akaza. The animation and the fight are insane. During the battle, Tanjiro taps deeper into the Hinokami Kagura and even develops a new way to fight, inspired by his dad’s movements from flashbacks. Giyu also goes all in. But then the movie dives into Akaza’s backstory — and it hits hard.
Turns out, before becoming a demon, Akaza was this guy named Hakuji. He had a sick dad, a master who took him in, and the master’s daughter who he really cared about. Then everything was ripped away from him. That pain turned him into what he is now. During the fight, he nearly pulls off something no other demon has done — regenerating even after getting his head cut off. But then, overwhelmed by memories and guilt, he stops fighting. He basically gives up and lets himself die. That whole scene is super emotional — it honestly breaks you a bit.
Right after, the Infinity Castle starts shifting and expanding. Muzan is still hiding somewhere inside. The Ubuyashiki kids are working with the crows to figure out where he is. They’re literally hand-drawing a map of the castle based on what the crows see — all while it’s constantly moving.
Muzan is still to be found.
