I broke one as a child. security made fun of my stuffed animal. he was the one bracing the door and he was laughing at me. I can attest these are sturdy but not very strong.

When I was in grade school they built a room like that but it wasn’t padded and would lock kids in it and turn off the light

Heyyyy my middle school had a trailer with two of those in there! They were 6ft by 6ft black padded rooms with a single window they used to put us in for hours if we were to act up in class. No stimulation, no light, no sound for hours. I used to climb the corners to get up to the air vents and beg to be let out of them.

Just me :
None of the schools I have worked in have had one. I think one of the local districts has one in one building but that is the school that has programs to serve students with severe IEP behavioral needs. I don’t work in that district so I don’t know if it is actually in use or not.

was working on the schools HVAC system and came across it by accident. A staff member told me they still get used from time to time during severe meltdowns. Thought it was interesting and wanted to share.

Not all schools, some cases with severe behaviors, where I taught they were used on rare occasions. After a few minutes of releasing energy back to normal
