Technically, Tris was forced to become a woman in order to advance. He didn't want it. Since he wants to grow stronger it's his only way. He is trapped by his pathway. Acting as a woman is part of digesting potion, not his personal choice. Gender is a serious issue for many Demonesses. Still I'm not sure if he counts as "transgender". Depends on definition I guess.

im pretty sure even Cuttlefish knows that the hunter and demoness pathway is like a cover for trans people, but transphobic fans wpuld not accept that. bcs just from the word transitioning, its easy to understamd or correlate that to whats hapenning to sequence 4 of hunters and sequence 7 of demoness, just bcs magic is involve doesnt mean DID NOT CHANGE THEIR GENITALIA

I feel like he more aligns with transmen because he was a man forced by the world to be perceived and live as a woman while still internally knowing he's a man? Like shermane absolutely a trans woman and meant to represent that. A lot of the other demonesses are more reflective of ftm tho (of course not LITERALLY but like from a story and theming perspective)

Most people don’t consider her character as trans because her transformation kinds just happens, she never wanted to be a woman and nothing about her story mentions any struggles with her original gender. The only genuine “trans person” in the series is sherman while the rest of the demoness sect likely followed through due to loyalty, devotion, brainwashing, or hunger for power
