this was so helpful! i just started my second year of PT school and really want to work with dancers as i grew up doing ballet. i’ve had a couple people mention that i should look at sports PT residency programs first… do you think it’s necessary/worth it to do that?

PT was the best profession when I got my license 16 years ago. Anyone thinking about it needs to look up current tuition (about $250k just grad school) vs current absolute max out on pay in an out patient setting ($125k in metro areas and $100k every where else). You’ll never pay off your loans let alone have an enjoyable quality of life, own a home, save for retirement. You can become a PA and then work for a physiatrist that does otpatient ortho and make more than double. It’s also easier to get into their grad schools. I see all cash patients and longshoremen (who have special insurance) and it’s the only way I’m able to get by but the area I live in is very wealthy. It’s just not a safe bet

Question!! I have been having the worst hip pain and I’m a dancer do u do apportionments with dancers? It’s so hard to find a PT near me that understands dance and my situation. I’m located near west Chester too!!
