I think Kim hates North Korea as is. He was never supposed to be in power, his brother was. I think he’s choosing his daughter hoping for change because he’s a coward and won’t do it himself. Or maybe he’s worried about his elders reaction and hopes they’ll be gone for his daughter’s reign. Kim spent a lot of time outside of North Korea as a boy so I bet he can’t stand having to be back.
