I don’t do messy controversial posts often, but some things just need to be said… and I’m just gonna say them 😂 Social media is full of beauty educators sharing business hacks, marketing tips, and product recommendations.  But not nearly enough are talking about what it actually takes to build a sustainable, respected career as a bridal hair and makeup artist. So, let’s talk about it!  Here are some of my hard truths as a super successful bridal and makeup artist that works in a high end, luxury market (and loves it! 🤭) 🤍 Your brand matters more than your kit. You can have the most expensive products in the world, organized to perfection… but if your brand and presence don’t reflect luxury, professionalism, and trust, clients will struggle to see your value. 🤍 Social media isn’t optional anymore. The artists you look up to on social media didn’t get there by chance, they’ve built their online success brick by brick.  They’re consistent and intentional with how they show up online. If you want social media to work for you, you have to commit to the bit, or you’ll get left behind. 🤍 This industry will test your mental health. The wedding industry has never been more demanding, across all vendors.  The long days, constant communication, heavy critiques, and emotional labor add up… and they’re heavy. If you don’t rest, set boundaries, and protect your energy, burnout will come for you — aggressively. (Trust me, I know.) 🤍 If your artistry isn’t evolving, your inquiries will slow down. You have to stay current with your techniques. This might sound harsh, but if your updos are giving “George Washington”, that’s a problem (and I know you know exactly what I mean 😂). Brides are cooler and more fashion-forward than ever, and they KNOW what’s tacky (rightfully so!). They can instantly tell who’s keeping up with modern bridal trends, and that’s who they’re hiring. 🤍 How you present yourself matters. You are your brand, period. You don’t need full glam or designer labels, but you should look like you belong in the luxury space you’re serving. Show up polished, confident, and professional, because you do belong there!  🤍  Talent alone isn’t what gets you booked. The biggest compliment I get is when someone says, “I knew that was your work the second I saw it.” A recognizable, refined signature style is what creates sustainable demand.  Your work HAS to stand out. If it doesn’t, why should they hire you?  When people can spot your work without seeing your name, that’s when you’ve built a brand that can stand on its own.  If this kind of real talk hits home, you’re in the right spot 🤍 My sub scriber community on I G is where I share deeper education, strategy, and behind-the-scenes insights for bridal artists who are ready to elevate. See you all there! #bridalhairstyle #bridalmakeupartist #makeupartisteducation #makeupartistbusiness #promakeupartist
