While I agree with part of your statement you fail to acknowledge the hormones involved in the transformation most trans people are trying to achieve. The cocktail of medications to achieve transformation is horrific. The hormonal imbalance leaves the person unable to control or function normally. As you noted you suffer from mental illnesses and are able to possess firearms. The same is true for the shooter but at some point a mental health evaluation should be part of continued ownership of firearms. So should it have been necessary prior to ownership. Mentally ill people weaponize firearms against innocent children in the US. We cannot continue to pander to those who overlook the issues of mental illness, and how the use of pharmacological treatments effect a person transitioning or otherwise. The use of some medications should be a factor in gun ownership and if you or someone else is prescribed such medications gun ownership should not be considered.
