I’m so lucky because my lovely aunt makes some of the best lokmas every time we visit! 🥹💕 I’ve shared the recipe a few times before, but this time I was able to capture every step, including the perfect dough consistency. I hope you’ll enjoy it! 🫶🏻 Ingredients: 2 ¾ cups of flour 2 cups of warm water 1 teaspoon of salt 1 tablespoon of sugar 1 tablespoon of oil 1 packet of instant dry yeast For the syrup (şerbet), boil 3 cups of sugar with 3 cups of water. Squeeze in a bit of lemon and let it boil for another 1-2 minutes, then let it cool completely. The syrup needs to be cold before you add the lokmas, so my aunt prepared it a day before and kept it in the fridge. To make the lokma dough, mix the dry ingredients in a bowl. Slowly add the warm water while mixing with one hand until the dough becomes smooth and slightly runny, just like we show in the video. Let it rest and rise for about 1 - 1.5 hours until it doubles in size. Once the dough has risen, heat up oil in a pot. Keep a bowl of water nearby and dip your spoon in it regularly while shaping the lokmas. Don’t overcrowd the pot to ensure even frying. When they’re golden, transfer them to the cooled syrup and stir them around. Let them soak for 2-3 minutes, then take them out and enjoy! 😍 If you skip the syrup and shape them larger, you’ll have perfect pişi instead! We usually enjoy pişi in breakfast👌🏻 • #foodieedaRecipe #lokma #turkishdessert #turkishfood #turkishrecipes #turkishcuisine #Recipe #DessertRecipes #desserts #syrup #şerbetlitatlılar #pişi #dessert #homemadefood
