It’s called a suicide knob and not without reason. Steer your car using the wheel. These things were devised for leverage in the pre-power steering days. They are totally unnecessary now and are dangerous.

Don’t do it. They’re called suiclde knobs for a reason. Mine is literally steel clamped into the leather and it still moves.
