I know barre chords but for some reason the middle pad of my barring finger can’t barre any strings I usually put that part on top of the strings that my other fingers are playing but I’m just wondering if anyone else has the same issue

The only reason people struggle with Barre chords is because they bought a rubbish guitar, I bought a cheap acoustic and still to this day can barely play them on it, but every other acoustic and electric guitar I ever used I could play them immediately on, same with my other friends who do music

I leant barre chords on crazy high action without knowing it so once I could play it on that it was easy on every other guitar

Just try Frusciante’s bar chords are easier, but you need to use your thumb.

I made it work when I learned to kinda pinch the neck. Thumb on the back of the neck, bar across the strings (helps get the reach too, no small hand complex) and you’re golden 👍🏻

I have a divot in my bone where it didn't heal correctly after I broke it as a kid and will always miss at least 1 string when barring =(

when i started i was told i had to learn bar chords bc my schools band plays a lot of bar chords they also taught me on a bunch of music theory
