I read that u can pick them green/almost yellow, store upside down individually wrapped in newspaper and then in a cardboard box in a cool dry place and they’ll slowly ripen thru winter.

I unintentionally grew some of these this year too. Can confirm they definitely last a lot longer than regular tomatoes but strangely they’ve triggered an intolerance to tomatoes for me! Very strange be interested to see how others get on with them!

It’s called Pienollo del Vesuvio and they’re named for the region they grow in Italy! Amazing tomatoes! What is the Roma variety you found that’s a long keeper?

oh very cool! I heard of storage tomatoes being kept in a pantry in individual brown paper bags. I love this kind of thing! have you heard of the book Preserving Food without Freezing or Canning? soooo good!
