Finally! Someone but me has said it. The standards (quality, intensity, frequency, volume, etc.) for training ifor most youth soccer in the US is nowhere near sufficient to develop top players when measured at the world level.

This doesn’t track if your point is that America doesn’t create the best soccer pros on the planet. Because football doesn’t even have external leagues. You just play with your high school then college. Basketball has a similar structure to soccer. AAU and high school, then college. Same with baseball. The real problem is kids who see pro sports as the goal see it because they love it AND because they can get rich AND be famous. Two out of the three of those things kids don’t see with soccer. So they drift away early on in their athletic development. It’s getting better as the world shrinks, MLS contracts grow. But that’s the real reason.

He is just rage baiting. Yes, American soccer is 99% pay-for-play. It will never compete with the rest of the world until it adopts international academy style programs where players are selected and developed to auction off for professional teams. The MLS is just the best the US can do until it wants to pay for players to compete at the international level

Paxton aaronson transfer to Colorado was 7 million. Philadelphia Union gets some of that money. Same with Brandon Aaronson. And now Cavan Sullivan. So maybe ur right about a large amount but zero clubs is inaccurate

That’s why best USA players play in Europe. Until MLS starts paying a lot more, the YS system will stay “rec.”
