@lastpaintdrop_studio: Paint thinning is one of the first things you should learn as a miniature painter! Most beginners slap paint straight from the pot (And I don't blame them! I was the same), but that’s how you lose details and end up with crusty layers. In this video I’ll show you how to thin your paints properly so they flow smooth, stay transparent, and build up natural volume. This is one of the first steps to brush control—and a game changer if you’re new to the hobby. Stay tuned, because next episode we’ll dive into layering! #paintingtutorial #howto #miniaturepainting #warhammer40k #dnd
how many layers though, I have to paint 60 Cadians, I can't be doing 5 layers for each colour 🥺

It also helps to have a paper towel to drain excess water from your brush just in case, or else your layers lose control because of how runny it gets.

Can you recommend any good brushes for starters ?

Andres Rivera :
you can use water or preferably acrylic paint extender this extends the drying time of the paint and additionally makes it more translucent giving you a longer paint and blending time.
