in my personal experience I just rather would drink water sure when you get the IV stuff your technically hydrated but you still feel like you're dehydrating because your throats dry

I’m the exception to the rule. Chronic dehydration from an ileostomy. When I get severely dehydrated, I need iv fluids because drinking too much can dehydrate me further.

Well, not for me. I finally went to the doctor because I was just dying at thirst all the time my mouth is always dry. My tongue was like a sponge I passed out. I finally went to the doctor and they told me I was severely severely dehydrated, they gave me two IV bags and I started to feel a little bit betterand now I’m back to the same point where I can’t get enough fluids and not make me dehydrated and my tongue is always dry and it’s really hard to swallow because there’s no moisture in my mouth.
