I don’t advertise it but if someone is not sure and has questions on what classes or if their child will like it, I’ll offer for them to try a class or two to decide what they want. If it’s a student coming to our comp team from another studio I will definitely want them to try a class to make sure they are a good fit

I am in my 31st year as a dance/tumble/cheer studio owner. Free trials work great for me. I don’t even make them give us their information (to follow up) because 98% of the kids have a blast and want to sign up. Well worth it to me.

Regrettably, it’s “both and” on this one! 😂

We don’t do free trials. Restaurants don’t give you a free meal, stores don’t give you a free outfit etc. not a fan

this is so interesting! as a brand new studio, we live for free trials - getting dancers in the door, showing them why we’re different and enrolling from there. Not EVERY trial converts - but more than 3/4 do and are grateful for the opp to find their fit

They always end up signing up before the trial happens so I stopped doing it…

What about bring a friend? Not completely open to the public to abuse the free class, but more like minded people who may want to give it a shot?

Yes I feel that too! Free trials are hard sometimes I think the drop in rate is better

I offer a paid trial, ($10 per class) and if they register, I put that money toward their registration fee. If they like the class, I’ve gained a new student. If they don’t choose to register, I’ve still made some money. Potential customers have always been happy to have an opportunity to sample without a huge commitment if they’re feeling unsure.

Not having a free trial option is a huge turn off. It’s only one class. Maybe an hour? What could that possibly hurt?

Iona dance studio. It was my studio as a child child and then my kids went to it until they graduated high school. I’ve been the owner for three years. We give a free trial, which is one free class to anyone who wants it and the conversion rate is almost 100%. Ive found that it’s helpful for the child to actually go into the class and see what it’s all about and it’s good for the parents to be in the waiting room watching on the TV talking with other parents and with me. My other parents are always so welcoming to the new parents and it’s just an all-around good feeling so if they were already interested in dance and then they come to a class and have a really great experience it makes them want to join. We love free trials!

We do a risk free trial. Everyone is required to fully enroll including payment, but if you don’t like it we’ll give you a refund. We booknless trials but we only give 1-2 refunds a year.

our registration fee is non-refundable and must be paid before coming to class. tuition is not do until the 10th, so the first class of the month can be taken before paying. it's a loophole o have there but do not advertise 😂

We charge a trial fee! Then if they register we apply that amount towards their registration fee… that way if they don’t register you still got something and if they do they feel like their saving money!

We like free trials! But this is something different you may like with free trials - We push them HARD. Free trials get newbies in the door, and then we get the opportunity to show them the value of taking class. After they take a free trial, we offer them an unlimited trial pass for about $30 where they can trial any class in their age group for two weeks before committing. This has proven to get students to enroll for more than 1 class at a time!
