I genuinely want to see this, but I think it’s important to clarify that Jane Austen herself cherished the relationship of the sisters or their friendships more than anything not just in this novel but in most of her others as well. It’s a discredit to Jane herself to allow the way society has decided the most important part of the story is the romantic one, when the most important relationship in her own life was with her own sister. They wrote to one another daily and she died in her own sisters arms. I can firmly say the most important relationship in Lizzie’s life is with her sister Jane which takes very balatant inspiration from her own life. Now her realtionship with Darcy is where she grows and evolves the most though. But the feminist ideas of marriage for love, and the importance of relationships of sisterhood and friendship have always existed in the text, people just tend to care about the romance part the most.
