@nationalstonelv: Do not waste your money on these overrated kitchen cabinets upgrades. When it comes to smart kitchen design, it’s not about what looks good in a showroom — it’s about how your kitchen cabinets function every single day. Let’s go over the mistakes I see homeowners make all the time and what you should do instead to make your kitchen design truly work for you. 👉 Pull-out spice racks. They look sleek, but these skinny kitchen cabinets waste more space than they save. Instead, a drawer insert in your kitchen design holds double the spices, costs less, and makes your kitchen cabinets more functional. 👉 Glass front doors on double-stack uppers. Beautiful, yes — but all-glass uppers in your kitchen design mean fingerprints, dust, and constant staging. Instead, limit glass to accent doors. This gives your kitchen cabinets personality without turning cleaning into a full-time job. 👉 Tilt-down sink trays. Those little panels in front of your sink? They trap grime and barely hold two sponges. Upgrade your kitchen design by putting that money toward deep drawer bases with dividers. Your kitchen cabinets will actually stay organized. 👉 Tall pantry pull-out towers. Showroom wow, real-life headache. These kitchen cabinets jam, tilt, and waste space. Instead, full-height pantries with pull-out shelves maximize your kitchen design and keep everything accessible. 👉 Pull-out cutting boards with trash below. Sounds clever, but it’s unhygienic and warps fast. Instead, invest in a butcher block insert or prep drawer. These upgrades keep your kitchen cabinets clean and make your kitchen design flow better. At the end of the day, kitchen cabinets should improve your daily routine, not just look flashy. Smart kitchen design means avoiding gimmicks and choosing features that truly last. On your first house you want kitchen cabinets with fancy doors. On your second kitchen you want plain smooth doors, they don't catch dirt and are so much easier to keep clean.😏

I have to disagree on the tilt down sink panel. I have this in my kitchen and it’s amazing. I don’t have to open the entire cupboard underneath just to grab a scrubby.

Disagree on the spice rack. I love mine. The drawer like you show means you have to have all the same or very similar size/shape for your spices

Having designed two kitchens in my life I can tell you the pull out spice racks are normally fillers due to cabinet spacing. Making great use of what would have been dead space.

How do you use a stove with a hood that goes all the way down to the counter top? Might look nice, but not practical!

I have the drawer insert for spices and love it for my spices but I also love my pullout spice racks as well for my bigger spice containers and oils. I use both equally and love them.

I was going to do the vertical tower for my spices because I have so much. And the side ones was oils and cooking utensils

My glass doors in my kitchen are one of my favorite features: but I have no kids and everything is put back exactly where it should go.

On the narrow cupboard, if you have space then don't bother but if you have a 20cm gap to fill then they're pretty good for bin bags, tubs of laundry pods, sponges, wire wool and other bits like that.
