It's a simple but fascinating way to identify them in the wild. But beware - these crabs are not shy. One even tried to pinch me! That's why it's important never to grab them with bare hands. Instead, use a tool like an iron hook for both safety and efficiency. Bread crabs love to hide in the cracks of rocks, especially when the tide goes out and the weather gets colder. They burrow into the stones to keep warm, which makes low tide the perfect time to find them. During this season, crabs are at their fattest and sweetest, making them a true delicacy for seafood lovers. In the reef area, I wasn't the only one out searching. The holiday brought crowds of people, all eager to take home their share of these delicious crabs. Still, it's important not to be greedy.
