Super annoying but unfortunately happens when people want to start a business but don’t have any strategic foundation to build on. They just create copies of other people’s brands. Best thing you can do is double down on the parts of your brand that can’t be copied and stay one step ahead.

It’s very common for companies to try and copy other brands, especially when they are doing well. You need to trademark ‘The Gather’ and other associated branding on the Gov website IMMEDIATELY. That way you can resort to legal action and send cease desist letters. If anyone else gets there first you will lose the ability to use your branding going forward. Just a tip!! Sad to hear this is happening to you 🙁

It’s awful what are these brands doing! I had a brand that stole my brand’s name before I launched. They renamed their brand steli g my name after they came across my Instagram profile. I couldn’t believe it.

I wouldn’t say you’re “outing” them lovely if you call them out! 🌸✨ I think the best thing to do is go to them directly and ask for amendments and changes to be made firsthand. Copying another colour, packaging etc is not cool, not creative. If no changes occur.. you may need to share the name. But only if you feel comfortable. I’ve been watching you for a while now, you’re honestly doing so so well! I’m really sorry to hear this, small biz brands should be the last to copy one other! 🥲

Sorry that this is happening to you. Your customers love you; your creativity, your vision the way you present your brand. They can try copy your style, but they can’t copy the natural creativity and authenticity that you bring

😊 This is sad @poppy_tg but here’s another perspective-We’ve all watched you build @THEGATHER from the ground up so we know who is the OG and they can & will copy but what they don’t have is “YOU” their “creativity” needs “YOU” so take it as a compliment and keep making those knits we all LOVE ❤️. Also looking into TradeMark while you’re at it- protect your investments at ALL cost.

It may be a small business, but their business isn't really a business if their designs are all copy cats of your brand... they don't really deserve to be paid money for the products they are selling if they have put no work into designing them... That's my opinion anyway... I used to hate it as a kid when other kids would copy my drawings or wrote their names on my drawings and give them to their parents... etc... and as a kid you grow up being told that it's the greatest form of flattery... which yes it is, but equally it's not fair if you've put all the work in and they are just piggy backing on your success. Personally I would name and shame. It's happening so much these days 😭 ❤
