Word of advice… let the person you are naming know ahead of time. As soon as you do this it will send a text to that person. I scared the shit out of my daughter! She thought I was dying.

They actually told me I needed a court order even tho I was representative of his estate after going through probate. I thought it was crazy to have to pay more money to get a court order.

so this isn't true unless they changed how it worked. in 2019 my dad died and i had to access his phone and such. i spoke with apple support and i just had to talk to them. i think i just had to supply a death certificate

None of this is true. Just go to Apple.com/iforgot and do the steps. Might make you wait a month or so but you can do the steps to get in. I did this on my mom’s account recently.
