when I was much younger, in my thirties, I used to go to competitions and back then some of the fights were point fighting and some were actual fighting - anyway, in a point fight some kid kicked me in the ribs and his signature will live there forever because he caused the hairline fracture - I never doubted kicks after that💙

Every street fight video where someone threw a kick and it went poorly, that person clearly had no idea what they were doing. There are tons out there where it ended the fight. The average man has no idea how to respond to a good kick because the average man is only taught the old one two from their dads.

I can in fact tell you that leg kicks will end a fight. I used to train muay thai and lost a fight to a leg kick. I also won a fight from a leg kick just below the knee in the upper calf.

I am a former amateur kickboxer....kicks are not useless but shouldn't be thrown higher than the hip unless guaranteed to land

they aren't useless just more risky especially against a trained boxer wrestler or grappler so its not the technique but the skill of the practitioner

Kicks def aren't useless. That being said, I was taught to avoid kicking above waist height because it leaves a person too vulnerable unless they're especially fast.

Well you could probably do math on the ammount of kicks thrown in 1000 mma fights (excluding calf kicks) and make a chart on the ammount of times they miss, land and are countered. Anything other than leg kicks have a high risk. Kickers also tend to get pressured backwards in fights
