bilingual here, my daughter sometimes uses both languages and I talked to a friend of mine who is a teacher that my plan is to let them know the other languages words for the areas and to tell them that she knows both languages but if ever she is in distress I can't count on her to articulate what is going on in any language. she agreed with my plan, her coworker thinks im a lazy parent and shouldnt teach my child anything but English until she is older....

We use Butt, Vulva, Penis, Scrotum… as they get older we will expand but I’m not expecting my 4 and 5 year olds to use words like rectum, anus, urethra, perineum, clitorus, or labia… come on people!! This isn’t about textbook accuracy, it’s about anatomical clarity, and encouraging open speech.

All this about booty and nothing about vagina almost never being the appropriate term for anything a child is likely to be talking about? Yes, they should know it, but 99% of the time they’re going to need the word “vulva”
