@annefrankhouse: #onthisday in 1933, Miep Gies began working at Opekta, a company founded by Otto Frank, Anne Frank's father, just a few months earlier in Amsterdam. Opekta was licensed to sell pectin, a gelling agent used to make homemade jam.
