Not for me, but I’m curious. Can someone come into the US with the intent of getting married (i.e., destination wedding like Hawaii, as an example), but want to go back home to their home country? Is that seen as a different thing?

I entered through the border without parole or an I-94 — I only have an I-862. I am married to my wife, and my I-130 case has been approved. I can’t return to my country to do the interview because I have a pending asylum case and my life is in danger there. What other way can I adjust my status inside the U.S.? I was thinking about doing it in a third-party country, but unfortunately the current administration doesn’t authorize Haitians to do that. What can I do?

My son in law got a marriage based AOS in 2025 after entering on a tourist visa and now has his green card, but he had a major change in circumstance after entry that was sufficient to overcome the presumption he entered with intent to marry. We were sweating bullets though during the application process.
