My ex-husband also left us. I was without child support from him for a long time and paid everything myself, including the debt we had incurred together. I paid it off. I saved up so that my daughter and I could move.

I know too many who stay bc they think they can't do it alone. very proud of you for recognizing you both are better ppl apart. this was me & my ex in 2016. today, we're both remarried and coparent so great. his wife and I are great friends and we support each other thru a lot. my man and I were the witnesses when they got married, a long with all of our children. I NEVER thought we'd have this relationship, but we're showing our children how to be respectful and what love really looks like. We don't collect any child support. we'd rather all just be active parents and provide things for our own houses and if there's something one of us needs help with it's never an issue. took us 2 years of working thru our own feelings and growth to get this relationship but man, I wouldn't trade it for the world!

Make sure you get a support order. He’s responsible for those children too. Don’t rush into any other relationships. Either as hard as it is, you need to stand on your own and show your children how it’s done.
