You need a headshell, cartridge/stylist, pre-amp & amp (or an amp with a phono input w/ a ground), and speakers. You should also get a turntable stylist force scale to calibrate the tracking force. I would plug it in and make sure the motor is running correctly before you proceed though. Let me know if you have any questions.

Get The Kenwood KC 105 controller & amp they are super cheap , And Pre Order a Technics Headshell with a mounted Shure M44 7 on ebay .

100% plug it in first and make sure the inner mechanisms properly work. If at the very least make sure it’ll spin at the appropriate speed. The little strobe at the left side of it needs to look like it’s still. It’s a pretty sweet turntable. Direct drive is nice. There are a couple of videos on YouTube of people demonstrating the same exact turn table. If it works then at that point you can put some money into it. Might want to check Facebook marketplace for a receiver and some speakers
