Unfortunately the “DoorDash situation” is pretty much the McDonald’s coffee incident all over again and we are seeing in real time how misogyny and misinformation intersect. Idk about the other stuff though but there’s always some sociological reason why these things catch the attention of the general public. They are exaggerated scenarios of everyday issues.

Thank god someone said this. I think TikTok just pushes this type of content on us. It gets people talking and if you don’t use the app you aren’t “in the know”. Creators will make videos about anything that will give them views and TikTok is rewarding those people with pushing the topic on everyone’s fyp

i seriously hate how everyone is becoming a punching bag now. the “blank situation is crazy” type of content used to be isolated to internet personalities which was still incredibly terrible & very parasocial. but now we are genuinely just making spectacles of actual real lives rather than youtubers bickering.
