The challenge is to silence the mind." ~ Caroline Myss~ I always feel so incredibly blessed any chance I get to spend time with the herd but there is just something about early mornings and sipping a cup of coffee while enjoying their company that nothing else compares to! Maybe it's the silence of the stillness, or the sounds of the songbirds chiming in (definitely not that dang rooster though!), or even the blanket of darkness lifting to the morning sunlight over the herd. Whatever it is it's catching! It's truly so healing and nurturing for the soul for both horses and humans. I can't tell you how many people tell me all the time how much they wish they could sit and watch the herd with their morning coffee too. So l thought I would bring it to you first hand this morning! These cool crisp mornings make that warm cup of Joe all that much more cozy to snuggle up with and be mesmerized by the morning magic of the mustangs! Most of the herd you see here are our White Mountain geldings from left to right including Phantom, Walkara (Cherokee), Denali, White Feather, and Dragon Heart (Maclaurian - Mac). But then my sweet Little Thunder and his adorable teddy bear eared mare Kyra make their way through headed for water. They are both from Sand Wash Basin Colorado. Little Thunder was always one of the stallions I followed closely on the range and so to be able to provide him a loving life here with us is extra special and I cherish him every day!
