I was visiting Shanghai this month. Felt dizzy and unsteady walking. Called ambulance. Went to local public hospital. Very hectic and crowded inside but I was seen immediately. Blood tests to be sure I didn’t have a stroke. EKG. CT scan of my head. Everything ok. Given option of staying to get IV fluids or go home to rest. Total cost about 1000 rmb/ $140.

We need this in the U.S. … because why is every dermatologist in my MAJOR city a 4 month wait. Dentist- 3 months. And I have blue cross blue shield like what… people scream for private to avoid long waits and this is literally with private insurance

the bias of the report is so embarrassingly obvious. Bureaucratic medical system?? Is it not true that there are simply too many patients on any given day. And is it not the reason why Jessica is able to make a living of helping out the older patients ?? In the US, the bureaucracy can be due to all kinds of reasons (e.g. processing of insurance), but not the many patients.

It’s so true. I help my dad with his cancer and I have to chase up so many different departments. Cause he has to do many tests. And then the appointments for doctors. Treatment. Blood tests. I can find it a bit hard and overwhelming. But if it was my dad by himself it would be so hard 😭
