this is a very small role but sinners depiction of southern asians was a good example especially seeing i learned so much from ppl who related to it due to their family's history

They hit every trope you’d see in a badly written urban fiction. The dark skinned plus size bully, the nice light skinned best friend, the Black girl who can’t go to college cause an unplanned pregnancy. They basically just brought a bad Wattpad story to life.

Southern Fried Race is based on the life of Cindy Wilson. It's not outlandish because it actually happened. I hate the show and the premise but this is a real life story.

Shout out to the lady in a comment section who brought up Cindy Wilson. She wrote a book about her life called Too Much Seoul! She’s Korean and was adopted by black military parents in Korea and grew up in Jackson, MS where she went/graduated from Jackson State. Once, she was put on my radar I got more irritated with the show but at least I have a new book to read 😭
