When I was first diagnosed I was so embarrassed and almost tried to hide it from most people because I knew someone would have something to say, it took me so long to realize that those people do not matter. I feel that diabetes is one of the many chronic illnesses that are so overlooked. Nobody should ever feel embarrassed or get insecure over something they cannot control. I give so much thanks to my family and friends for giving me so much support and helping me through it all. Even though I do have my rough days living with this, in just the past year it has truly changed my perspective on life and made me realize to never take something for granted.
