Nah paint wall first then you can use the carpet as a dust sheet and chuck it at end :-)

My carpets weren’t that old… but the previous owners did have dogs… I had pre-booked a professional carpet cleaner for the day after my completion date. It’s the only thing I committed to before completion. I had the carpets totally cleaned and didn’t move most my stuff in for the first 3 days… well worth it, I am going to change the carpets but it’s ment I didn’t have to rush to do it straight away. I’m about 11 weeks in atm and I’m going to be looking at new carpets maybe next month, can’t do it yet as I’m waiting for my wardrobes to be done
