I’m finally getting out of retail! The last 5 years have been really eye opening to me. Patients are abusive, some pharmacists really just don’t care about anything but the paycheck, and corporate thinks we are robots. I’m done being verbally abused daily over cumulative day supply 🤣🤣

I have a pharmacist who bullied me so bad that the patients were complaining to the pharmacy manager. They would watch in horror as she would belittle me in front of them and when she would see no one was amused she’d just start giggling and saying she was kidding.

Been doing it 25 years . I love my job, but it’s tough. Between corporate expectations, and rude customers , and pharmacists who aren’t held accountable for anything because corporate doesn’t want to lose them. The past 5 years has been really hard .

I would never say to someone not to pursue it because everyone thrives in different work environments but it is the worst customer service job you can get corporations only look at numbers & don’t give enough staff to appropriately run the pharmacy but still expect outrageous numbers & perfection even though you cannot physically give them the numbers that they demand

Being a pharmacy technician is awful. I love helping people but working in retail pharmacy has genuinely made me change my perspective. People are so atrocious.

Yes!!!!! Finally someone is explaining it. I’m a pharmacy technician and when I was in retail it was the worst. Even now that I’m an inpatient technician I’m still treated like a punching bag.

Yes, thank you for advocating for pharmacy technicians! I have dug into the research and found that the average tech may need to work an average of 6-9 hours of OT per week to just survive in most areas without going deeper into credit card debt. Would love to see the system fixed and help get them what they deserve!

Most of my pharmacists were absolutely commisurate with us. They were down in the trenches with the rest of us. I have always admired them. I’ve worked in service industry and as a pharmacy tech, and by default I will ALWAYS be nice to servers and fellow pharmacy techs. If I’m ever rude to them, it’s because I’m asking for help and they need to call the police.

I work retail as a tech and I can say most of our patients treat us well. The company I'm with does (for the most part) treat us good too. My pharmacists are amazing. Yes its a hard job and we can be treated bad

I work retail pharmacy, and every bit of this is true. I'm fortunate to live where I do and can afford to live on my own, but it is still literally paycheck to paycheck. I do work for one of the big name retail chains, but my pharmacists are awesome. it really is who you work with that can make or break your job.
