I agree with the one star. It’s pretty dull. There was no emotional anchor to the character. The stakes aren’t that high. If someone doesn’t know they’ve been in danger or wronged and doesn’t want for anything, is that drama?

It’s funny because the low ratings for this book are true 😂 there’s a lot of obscurity, a lot of descriptions about hallways, and moments that are lackluster. But that’s what drew me into the story. I enjoyed the slow pacing and the gradual reveal.
