She borrows hearing from animals, it isn’t humans. She can control anyone she deems inferior to her, that’s why she can’t control Kishibe and Denji. Denji bc of his contract with Pochita and Kishibe because of her respect for him as a devil hunter.

Past :

Makima can control anyone she considers inferior, and she considers everyone but chainsaw inferior, this includes devils, fiends, and even animals like rats and birds.

So what I’m getting from this is Makima knew what was going on this entire time.. she let all her ppl die( she did the same in the first season on the train. She knew she was being attacked yet let it happen) and she decided to kill reze right before she found happiness…she could’ve killed reze at any point😀 actually wild..
