I agree that people ought to invest a lot more. My issue is that “in between” - money you need in the next 5 years or basically sinking funds. There are so many of these (emergency funds, subscriptions, insurance premiums, holidays, house redecorations, future cars (outright BTW), maternity leave etc). When you add all of that, it’s likely to be way for of £15K or £20k+. That needs to be in cash because investing is a longterm matter
