POV: The house felt too quiet when I woke up that morning. I reached out to the other side of the bed, only to find it cold—Jay had already left. I sighed softly, my eyes landing on a folded piece of paper on the nightstand. His handwriting was neat, steady. “Good morning, Y/N. I didn’t want to wake you, but I made breakfast. It’s in the kitchen. Don’t skip it. – your husband Jay” I stared at the note longer than I should have, a strange warmth blooming in my chest. He didn’t have to do this. But he did. Dragging myself downstairs, I found the plate neatly arranged on the table—eggs, toast, and a small cup of fruit. The smell was faint now, but it still felt fresh. Sitting there alone, I picked up the fork and took a bite. I wasn’t expecting much, but the taste was good. Too good, actually. I let out a soft laugh to myself. “He really cooked this…” I muttered under my breath. And for some reason, the simple thought of Jay in the kitchen, sleeves rolled up and concentrating on breakfast, made my heart skip. — By 3:00 pm, I found myself pacing around the living room. It wasn’t planned. I didn’t even notice it at first. I just… kept glancing at the clock, wondering when he’d come home. It was strange. I had never waited for him before. Not once since our marriage. I hugged a pillow to my chest as I sat on the sofa, frowning. Why am I waiting now? The clock ticked slowly. 5:00 pm. 7:00 pm. 9:00 pm. Still no sign of him. I turned on the TV, flipping through channels. The sound filled the silence, but it didn’t fill the strange emptiness I felt. I told myself I wasn’t worried—no, of course not. He was probably just busy at work. That’s all. But then why did I keep checking the door? — By 10:30, the movie I had been watching ended, and the credits rolled on the screen. My body felt heavy with drowsiness. I curled up on the sofa, pulling the blanket closer as the TV’s faint glow lit the room. I hadn’t realized when my eyes slipped shut. The next thing I heard was the faint rumble of a car outside. A door closing. Footsteps approaching. But I was too tired to wake. The sound of the front door unlocking was soft, followed by the quiet rustle of someone stepping inside. I stirred slightly, still half-asleep. Jay walked in, his tie loosened, his shirt slightly wrinkled. He looked exhausted, his usually sharp eyes dulled with fatigue. Dropping his keys onto the table, he finally noticed me curled up on the sofa. A faint smile touched his lips as he walked closer. Slowly, carefully, he sat down beside me, running a tired hand through his hair as he leaned back. The cushion shifted, and that movement woke me. My eyelids fluttered open, blurry at first, until my gaze focused on him—sitting there, head tilted back, staring at the ceiling. “Jay?” My voice was soft, sleepy. He hummed in response, not even turning his head. “Are you tired?” I asked, blinking at him. Finally, he looked at me, his eyes gentle despite the fatigue. “Yeah. Long day.” I pushed myself up slowly, tucking my hair behind my ear. For a moment, I just stared at him—the dark circles under his eyes, the way his shoulders sagged. Without thinking, I whispered, “You look like you’re carrying the whole world.” He chuckled quietly, the sound low and tired. “Feels like it, sometimes.” I hesitated before reaching for the blanket I had used, pulling it up to cover his shoulders. His eyes widened slightly at the gesture. “You’ll get sick if you keep sitting like that,” I muttered, avoiding his gaze. For a moment, he didn’t move. Then his lips curved into the softest smile. “You waited for me.” The words made me freeze. I hadn’t realized it until he said it out loud. My chest tightened, and I looked away quickly. “No. I just… didn’t feel like going to bed early.” “Liar,” he teased gently. I frowned. “I’m not lying.” comsec++ #ENHYPEN #JAY #fypシ゚ #fypage
