I don’t think we talked about the reference to soulaan folklore. Sammie is clearly inspired HEAVILY by Robert Johnson who was thought to have sold his soul to crossroads demon to gain his guitar skills. All the way down to the state that it was set in because Robert was also from Mississippi. Ryan & Zinzi Coogler left no stone unturned when writing this script
