Literally what my teens and early 20s consisted of doing and I hadn’t even been diagnosed at that point nor did I have any concept of what masking was 💀 I just knew that if I fawned and presented a certain type of hyper femininity people were less mean to me, and suddenly my “quirkiness” was considered cute instead of weird 😭

the easiest autism hack I learned growing up was being physically appealing. People dont care if youre weird when you look conventionally attractive. masking becomes part of the 'attractive' get up, and honestly is easier to maintain when paired.
