"Freudian" is the 10th and final track of Daniel Caesar's debut album with the same title "Freudian". This track is the ultimate send off to the album you just listen to. This song sums up the theme's of the album so beautifully. This 10 minute masterpiece (despite having 2-3 minutes of silence) is one of the most beautiful songs ever made. In the beginning he sings to his lover who is present through the whole album. She's the reason that he sings, and yes he's messed up pouring into empty cups "but you've got your friends too". Yes he's hanged with his friends who are bad influences and they're present doesn't benefit him in any way but she's the same way with her friends. Then daniel thanks her for saving his life and for all her advice. Through out the up and downs he feels on this album she was always there when he needed her most. In the second verse he speaks to his mother. She's the reason he's alive and he feels like in a way he must honor her name or he will die. He apologizes to her claiming yes he's brought shame to her name "but you've got your thangs too". He's not perfect and neither is she. And he's really a product of what she's gave him and for that he is thankful with lines like "I just wanna thank you for giving me life" and all the advice. Without her he'd be lost in game of life. Then daniel caesar brings the first half of song home with a choir that comes and sings beautifully. Then there's about 2-3 minutes of silences and the last part of the song where he speaks on self sacrifice and how lives challenges can challenge your ego.
