Replying to @Sadie Ost I recommend making the request in email. Either to your manager or HR. And not all disability laws apply to all companies. Most companies will give employees paperwork that their healthcare provider needs to fill out. The paperwork will ask about restrictions and limitations and their expected duration. Some doctors or healthcare providers write the accommodations the employee wants and that isn’t their role. They will be asked about restrictions and limitations and the duration of those. Then the employee will speak with their manager and/or HR about what reasonable accommodations, if any, could address their restrictions. The PWFA has easier requirements in my opinion, so if you’re pregnant or have a related medical condition, ask for accommodations under the PWFA. When I worked in retail, some common accommodations were chairs, not coming in at 4am or working past 10pm, having at least 12 hours in between shifts, carrying water around, not lifting certain items, and additional training. #humanresources #hrtiktok #corporatelife #jobtips #disability
