14.11.2025 | Li Xian Xiaohongshu Update. Bromo Volcano🌋 | Big Gamble Pays Off... For this year's diving trip, I chose Indonesia. When asked before I left if I wanted to see Bromo Volcano, I immediately agreed, having been obsessed with hiking these past couple of years. The weather around the equator at the end of October is still quite unpredictable, and it even poured with rain twice during our diving trip in Malang. It was raining when we landed in Surabaya in the afternoon, it was raining during dinner, and it was still raining when we set off in the middle of the night. Even when we were waiting at a mountain coffee shop, the rain continued. But at 4 AM, as we waited for the sunrise on the mountain ridge, the rain gradually began to stop. It was incredibly beautiful—a landscape you just don't see in everyday life. Accompanied by the morning glow, the world before my eyes shifted from blue tones to pink, and then gradually to gold, as the warm sunlight slowly bathed the earth. The smoking Bromo Volcano, the strangely-shaped green plants, and the pungent, acidic smell in the air were all a refreshing experience (the brave get to eat volcanic ash first). After taking photos at the summit, we moved on to hiking the volcano. From the parking lot to the crater, it was a 5km round trip at an altitude of 2500 meters. You could choose to ride a horse, but for someone like me who believes

As for the more painful part: if you wake up at 8 AM the day before to pack, catch a flight to Surabaya, and don't finish the entire day's activities until after 9 AM the next day when leaving Bromo Volcano, you've essentially had almost no sleep for 24 hours. The driver and tour guide on the way there were still full of energy, but on the return trip on the highway, I could clearly see he was struggling to keep his eyes open.
